I’ve been reading Tapping Creativity, a book by Geoffery Hineman (blog), and one chapter I just finished reading was about writing a first sentence. A first sentence is, as you might think, the start of something. It, however, doesn’t always have to be for a term paper, or a story. It can be for anything; journal entries, haiku, short story, etc. But this technique isn’t meant to make you continue. It’s designed to make the reader want to read more while allowing you an out to continue if you so wish at a later time.
Then I got to thinking, this would be a great way to get some writing out. It’s small; It’s easy; I can write or think about it on the tran. Perfect! So, to start it off:
Ever since they left, my mind has been at ease.
Post yours, if you have one. Or better yet, lets see what you all can come up with from that first sentence. What questions does it bring up? Or just run with it — what story would to tack on?
